The season 2004/5 represents the clubs official 125th birthday, and the club is keen to start early celebrations of this special event. So much so that plans are already afoot to put in place some exciting events. It is anticipated that the club will undertake a major rugby tour as part of the celebrations and a revisit to the USA is a strong possibility. The club visited the east Coast of America as part of its centenary activities and the established links with clubs such as Boston, New York and Charles River “River Rats” mean that a warm welcome awaits on and off the pitch. On the home rugby front it is anticipated that a Kent XV will play the first XV at The Mote as will a guest International XV. It is anticipated that the major firms in the town will sponsor all these events to reflect the fact that rugby has been part of the Maidstone and Kent community for a 125 years and that the club continues to function as such. Any one who wishes to involve themselves in this project should contact the club via the web site contact address. No help of any kind will be refused …….. at the centenary activities we even made our own brand of pork sausages as we were sponsored by a pig farmer who gave us a pig to fatten! Rugby memorabilia is now a growing leisure activity and the club intends to produce a host of items such as an inscribed glass tankard bearing the club shield and new motto, A variety of promotional gifts for young and old alike...JUST WATCH THIS SPACE FOR FURTHER DETAILS.
