This season sees the launch of the exciting new 500 Club. This will take over from the former 100 club which has been running for many many years.

The purpose of this name change twofold. Firstly to make bigger prizes and secondly to raise money for the Rugby

Club. When the original 100 club was started 20 or more years ago the aim was to have 100 members and pay in prizes about £500 and £500 to the club. Long ago we had well in excess of 200 members raising corresponding figures but

the time has come to bring it up to date. We are ambitious as a club and so we should be equally ambitious as far as our prizes are concerned. My aim is to have a first prize of £500(currently the top prize is £100) in addition there will be many smaller ones during the season. My second aim is to have 500 numbers. This I am sure should be attainable. This will give us a pool of £2500 for prizes plus a similar amount will go towards club funds. During the transformation period those of you on Bankers Orders to the old 100 club should ask your bank to change to the new £500 club. As most of the

standing orders will have already gone into the account please adjust the amount to bring it up to your new contribution.

I would suggest you do this by cheque. The basis of the new scheme will be £20 per unit. Each unit gives you 2

numbers in the draw. Units can be bought in multiples of £20. Payment details and any changes to be made are on the separate form.

I hope you will support the new 500 Club the same way as you have the 100 Club.
