Kent 7s Plate Runners Up

An excellent end to the season as Maidstone Under 14's worked hard to get through to the Final of the Plate Competition at the Sevens Tournament in Ashford. Maidstone had five matches in the Pool to start (most teams only had four matches at this stage), which was very competitive right to the last match to see who was going through to the Cup / the Plate / or going home. Maidstone came 4th in the Pool, and then won their quarter final and semi final, to gain a place in the Final against Canterbury.

Eight matches on hard ground, with all matches played at a fast pace, eventually caught up with Maidstone, as Canterbury managed to run in a try in each half.

Maidstone players were rewarded with individual medals and a Runners up Plate.

Well done, to everyone in the squad - not just the twelve players who played on the day, but also those who turned up for training on Thursday and Saturday.

Note we drew with Folkestone in the Pool game, but they eventually played in the Cup Final!!!!
