Welcome to Maidstone Rugby - The County Town rugby club

Welcome to Maidstone F.C, which is the rugby club at the heart of Kent’s County Town.

Formed in 1880, the club is amongst the oldest in the country and has for many years played its rugby at the picturesque Mote Cricket Ground, adjacent to Mote Park and the Mote Leisure Centre.

Almost unique in Kent Rugby, we run 6 senior men’s sides every Saturday during the season and with a highly successful Youth and Minis section running sides from U18’s down to U7’s on Sundays, the club has a successful playing structure and membership of over 500.

The 1st XV are the top side within a 15 mile radius and play league rugby in London 2 (South) (National Level 6), whilst the 2nd XV (Mustangs) play in the highly competitive Invicta League where they have been runners-up for the last two seasons.

As well as 5 men’s team playing League Rugby, we are one of very few clubs in Kent that put out a genuine Veterans side every week, (including a number of players over 60 who continue to enjoy their full-contact rugby to the full).

At Youth level, amongst many honours we were Kent County Champions at U18 level in 2005/6 and again in 2007/8 and a large number of young players have made the step up to senior rugby, at least 8 of whom have been good enough to play regularly for the 1st team in the past 3 seasons.

The integration of youth players into the senior sides has helped the club to 2 successive County Seven's finals in recent seasons, capturing the Cornwallis Cup for 2006/7.

Whilst we are always keen to recruit players who can enhance the 1st team squad, all new players are very welcome at the club, whatever their age, level of experience, ability or aspirations.  Click on the link for more details.

On the website you will find dedicated pages for every age group at the club, with each page giving details about the teams, fixtures, results, match reports, coach contacts, parents info, news and maybe even a team photo.

The Gallery area for both Seniors and Juniors will show latest and historic matches and events.

We hope that all our members and visitors enjoy our newly up-dated website and find it to be an entertaining and useful place to visit.

We look forward to seeing you at the Mote in 2008/9 to renew old friendships and rivalries and to enjoy many new ones, within our great game of Rugby.
