Welcome to the 2011/12 season. We have had a change of coaching staff over the summer. I would like to thank Fin Davis. He has been promoted to provide analysis for the 1st XV. He has worked hard to give the Mustangs a stepping stone into this season’s campaign. He brought a level of professionalism which spread though out the team and prepared players for the transition into the 1st XV.
The club have appointed Pete Barford to manage and coach the Mustangs. I am looking forward to working with Pete over the next season. I know he is looking to build upon the excellent pre-season that has happening over the summer. I believe that he will be able to create an atmosphere of competition within the squad to challenge for 1stXV places.
I am excited to get into the games and with the strength in depth that we now have I believe that there will be some cracking performances. I believe we are strong contenders to win the Invita 2 title and will need to start strong come the first league game.
Last but not least, congratulations to Jim walker in the captaincy of the 1stXV , I know that Kent referees are already preparing themselves for some wonderful conversations both before the games and at the bottom of the rucks.
