Raft Race sat 26th July 2:30 pm

Undaunted by last year's miserable effort, (where we couldnt even make it to the start line by the time the race was finished), the good ship Maidstone Rugby is taking to the river once again this saturday. In an effort to improve the hydro-dynamics, speed and buoyancy of the raft, we have avoided taking any design advice from the Royal Engineers (Steve Coates) this year and have substantially improved the barrel-to-rower ratio, although we probably still have too many fat boys aboard. Another improvement is that the barrels are all facing forward this year rather than sideways....... It just remains to be seen whether the thing floats. Come down in a Maidstone shirt and cheer us home. Bring plenty of (soft) projectiles. RE
