Maidstone u15s 28          Dartfordians u15s 0

The squad travelled to Dartford on a fine Sunday morning for their first game of the season (07/08). The last time the two sides met it was victory for Dartfordians, so the fire was well stoked in the squad.

Maidstone were slow to start and a bit rusty but eventually found there footing as pressure put on the resulted in a five metre scrum which was picked up by George Child and the subsequent drive and rip from skipper Brett Scott put the first score on the board, fly half Sam Ellis converting the extra two.

Maidstone’s second try came from good territory by the pack which gave centre Tom Griffin a score with Sam Ellis again giving the two points.

Five minutes into the second half saw good Maidstone pressure leading to turn over ball and through quick hands Ryan Macdoogal ran down the left wing scoring in the corner, Ellis again slotting the extra two.

With ten minutes to go Maidstone attacking style of play saw scrum half Oliver Newton box kick to perfection and with the darts fullback under pressure the stones had a five metre scrum with a pick up from George Child and a drive from Maidstone’s pack leading to well deserved try, Ellis kicking the extras.

Well done to man of the match Fraser Clucas.
