MAIDSTONE U15 56 THANET U15 0 SUNDAY 21/10/2007
Maidstone u15s first home game of the season resulted in 10 try victory for the home side.
From the start Maidstone posed a threat to the visitors probing for openings in the Thanet defence. After 5 minutes prop Weston took a crash ball and breached the defence and from the resulting quick ball Maidstone’s ¾ line took the ball and Clucas scored the try.
Skipper Brett Scott scored the second after a driving maul, he broke and touched down. A good phase of play saw the Stones awarded a scrum, scrum-half Ollie Newton seized the opportunity and powered through to score.
With 5 minutes left on the clock, centre James Coorbin broke the line, scored and Sam Ellis easily converting.
HALF-TIME 22 – 0
The second half saw the Stones crank up the game and with the ball flowing freely through the 3/4s hands Tom Griffin scored.
Debutant Sam Sayers scored his first try, the ball being passed skilfully.
Harry Horsfelt playing in his second game since joining from Medway added to the tally taking route1 through the Thanet defence. Ellis kicked the extras.
Pressure from the Stones forwards resulted in a 22 drop out, Tom Griffin scoring the try.
Sam Sayers got his second when the restart was taken forward and the passage of play was just like a training drill. James Coorbin finished the scoring in the last minute, getting his second and Sam Ellis kicked the conversion.

This was a solid performance by Maidstone with every squad member enjoying good time on the pitch and was thoroughly enjoyed by supporters. WELL DONE.
