Summary of matches:
Maidstone under 11sshowed the benefit of pre-season training in their first fixture of the season at Aylesfordwith Canterbury also guesting at Ferryfields on Sunday. After narrowly losing by the odd try to Canterbury, a very good team performance, with the emphasis on getting the ball out wide and augmented by some fine tactical kicking from fly-half Daniel Ellesmere and a good hooking display from Harry Cole, saw them score five tries without reply against an Aylesford XII.
The Stones scored their first try through the returning Jack Mallison when he outpaced the covering defence before Jacob Taylor's power then saw him across the line for the first of his braceand the visitors' second. A great run and stepfrom centre Cameron Laurenson from deep inside his own half finishedwith a fine swallow dive in the corner to put Maidstone three tries to the good. Winger Luke Bannell then showed equal skill with some skilful running up the opposite wing for the Stones' fourth before Taylor's second, from a typically barnstorming run, sealed the win for Maidstone in the second half.
Earlier Aylesford had organised a typically good integrated training session for the 3 teams.
