10 Sep 20: Training Guidance Following Government Update
As Rugby is an organised sport under RFU guidelines, we are pleased to report that there are no changes to where we currently stand. We remain at Stage D.
However, due to the government restrictions, some distancing rules will need to be observed. Please read the Clubhouse Updated Guidance within the clubs website ‘News’ section.
Youth Training:
We are delighted that we will be able to welcome back the Youth Section to The Mote on Sunday 20th September, as long as there are no further developments.
As part of the organised sports guidance, parents can attend as normal but we kindly ask that you follow the below rules.
- Help adhere to the new clubhouse operations guidance.
- You must space yourselves 2 metres apart and must not congregate in a group larger than six people.
- Timings for the youth training will be need to be amended in accordance with the latest guidance / distancing regulations and will be communicated by your Age Grade Coach.
- Please respect the timings, park and leave responsibly.
Senior Training:
Senior training can continue as it has been operating since we reached Stage D. Please observe the updated clubhouse guidance as this has changed.
Physio:
Indoor treatments will be starting again as of Tuesday 22nd September. There will be restrictions on when you can enter the room, so please make sure that you book an appointment if you would like to be seen. The Physio is a service to paying members only.
10 Sep 20: Changes To Clubhouse Guidelines
Following the recent government announcement, the club has reassessed the guidance and evaluated where that melds with the RFU guidance.
We are pleased to report that this will incur only minor changes to our current COVID operations. Please read the below and help all of us keep safe and compliant, so that we can continue bringing you the best possible service we can within these difficult restrictions.
Important Clubhouse Regulations as of Monday 14th September.
- Patrons must use the one way system and observe social distancing of 2 metres.
- Register your name in the guest book or with you designated coach / person in your group for contact tracing.
- Use sanitisers provided when entering the facility.
- No more than one person in the restroom at all times.
- Only people from the same household allowed at the bar at any one time, when ordering refreshments.
- Contactless payments only.
- Masks strongly encouraged.
- No more than 6 together at a minimum of 2 metres apart.
- All other patrons must space themselves away from any group that they are not included within, more than 2 metres.
- Maximum clubhouse occupancy of 20 customers.
There will also be COVID monitors to assist with numbers and ensuring that we are compliant. They are volunteers, helping ensure that we keep everyone safe and that we can continue to operate, so please respect and assist them.
On days that there are food available, you maybe asked to move along after you have eaten to allow for the table to be cleaned and another member(s) to eat. Please do not take this personally. Keep in mind that it could be you waiting whilst others are occupying a table unnecessarily.
There will be additional tables outside on the Pétanque court. The intention is to construct a structure over this to keep rain off for the winter days ahead which has been agreed with the Cricket Club.
Once again please help to support our staff and volunteers with these guidelines, so that we can continue in some form of normality as one club. Anyone that shows disregard for them, maybe asked to leave the premises.
08 Sep 20: NatWest Rugby Force: Thanks To All
The club was chosen this year to receive the £500 grant as part of the Natwest Rugby GroundForce Day.
There were several jobs on the to-do list and with nearly thirty volunteers on hand, representing the committee, playing, youth and supporters, much was accomplished. The pitches were mowed by Veterans Captain Karim, areas were brush cut, weed killed and debris shifted by the likes of Jerry Sargant, President Paul Ehrhart, the Chairman and Pete Bulford. Trevor Marvin was on hand organizing the advertising boards whilst the players on hand led by Will Fox fitted, repaired and cleaned them.
Some of the trees around the grounds with dubious branches were trimmed and an area cleared & tidied to make way for some disabled parking bays adjacent to the top pitch. The railings were painted by a troop of individuals, with additional painting and touch up done by Richard Ewence. Getting involved here, there and everywhere was none other than Head Groundsman Bob Hayton, who once again organized a very productive day.
Refreshments were taken at the end of a great afternoons work by all. The club committee wholeheartedly thanks all those that turned up and contributed with more work that we could write about! One great day for one great club!
08 Sep 20: Club Blazers Awaiting Collection & Payment
The delivery of the blazers has been made, sanitised and held in storage. The supplier worked hard to ensure that the delivery was in time for the Veterans tour, which has unfortunately been delayed for obvious reasons.
We understand that payment for the blazers could be difficult at this time and there are a lot of blazers still unpaid. Please could you help support the club by paying as soon as possible. Instalments are welcome. For delivery, please contact the Admin team so that the blazers can be taken out of storage and transported to the clubhouse.
You can do a BACS transfer to the club account using the details below.

Here's how it works:
Download the Apple app or Android app and register with easyfundraising.org.uk.
Next time you want to buy a takeaway via Justeat or buy an item off of Amazon or from over 4,000 retailers, do so through the app. For every purchase you make, a percentage will go to the club. If something costs £10, it will cost you £10, but the club will receive a percentage of that.
No extra cash paid by you, but you would have supported the club!
All proceeds made by the club will be reinvested for the benefit of all club members.

Situations Vacant - Perimeter Board Sponsor Sales
posted: August 08 2018
This season’s Sponsorship & Advertising campaign is progressing well but assistance is required to maximise perimeter board sales. The success of the club in being able to generate perimeter board sales in recent seasons has meant that the Sponsorship Manager's role has outgrown what can be achieved and fulfilled by one person and in many respects the sale of perimeter boards is 'treading water' as opposed to increasing sales. As a consequence the club is looking for a volunteer, or team of volunteers to take on the responsibility for perimeter board sales as a standalone role.
The role could be fulfilled by either a single person, or ideally a small team of volunteers. Whilst the period of the upcoming closed season is the busiest period as the club targets funding for the new season and looks to generate sales accordingly; this is also a year round role with no defined deadline for achieving sales. Those interested in what is an extremely rewarding role should be proactive in generating and exploring opportunities and display a degree of dynamism and tenacity in pursuing potential leads.
Volunteers are requested to contact Bob Hayton via the Contacts page of the website
For a full description of the role click here.
Online Physio Appointment Booking
posted: October 03 2018
The club will be launching a new online booking system for the Physio department at the club.
The intention is to help the team plan clinics and also help make sure that everyone can be seen in a timely fashion. The priority on Thursday will go to senior players looking to play games on the Saturday, but the booking system will help make scheduling an appointment easier. The online system will be trialled until Christmas.
A booking link will be added to the club’s website and also to the clubs Facebook players page, for members to book. Please remember that treatments are for paying members and you maybe refused service if you are not paid up.

50% Off Your Playing Membership
posted: June 29 2018
As part of our recruitment drive, the Club is offering a massive 50% discount off of your senior playing membership. All you need to do is recruit a friend to come and play for Maidstone. Once they are a signed up and a fully fledged playing member, the club will discount the last 6 months of your membership.
This season we are eligible again to take part in the RFU Intermediate Trophy, which has the final played at Twickenham. The last time we entered was 2015, where we saw off stiff competition from Diss and Coney Hill to set up the final at Twickenham against Bridgenorth. The rest as they say, is history.
Memories of that day can be found here, and it is something we hope to experience again.
For more information, please speak to Director of Rugby Andy Golding, or Head Coach Mike Hebden.
Club Blazers
posted: July 21 2018
The last batch of club blazers was ordered and delivered over 2 years ago (2013) and there have been expressions of interest in obtaining a blazer from various quarters throughout the past season. The club is prepared to assemble another order but you should be informed that the minimum order quantity is 20 and the last order took c2 years to assemble. Therefor if you put your name forward please be aware that this will not be a rapid process.
Members interested in ordering a blazer should forward their names to Bob Hayton and include what size they require; sizing is based on the standard M&S blazer sizes (i.e. 42R, 42L etc) although minor adjustments can be made such as extra or shorter sleeve length
Please note that given that it took c2-years to assemble the order for last batch of blazers this batch is therefore expected to be the last order for the foreseeable future, so if you don't order one, you may well miss the boat!!
