The only good thing about the snow causing most of our games to be cancelled this week, was that for me it provided an opportunity to travel to wimbledon and watch the First Team, for the first time this season. At 15-0 up within 20 minutes, it all looked so promising for an important morale-boosting victory. At 18-18 with 10 minutes to go, a draw seemd liked a disappointing but probably fair result. To then lose the mtach with the last play of the game in 9th minute of added time, was somewhat shattering, for players and supporters alike. However, thanks to Wimbledon for their excellent hospitality and an exciting match.

A win at Wimbledon might have boosted morale enough to beef up the performance vs Gravesend in the Kent Cup on Sunday but despite being within rallying distance at half-time, it was in the end an emphatic victory for Gravesend, who must now fancy themselves to go on and win the cup this year. Lets hope that next week, we can complete a full fixture programme for the first time since 12th December.

COURT AND SOCIAL

Regardless of the weather, there will be a Club Quiz Challenge on saturday 23rd Jan. Teams of up to 8 are invited to take part and compete to be the Top Brains in Maidstone. There should be at least 1 team from each of the 6 senior teams and Junior sections are also very welcome to take part. Contact Wendy Pound for more details.

EVERGREEN CUP

The Quarter Final draw has now been completed and Maidstone have been drawn at home to Charlton Park. Date to be confirmed
