Steve Oram
Director of Rugby
Steve coached all the way through the youth section at Aylesford before taking over as Youth Manager. He has had coaching stints at National sides Blackheath and Canterbury before joining Maidstone as Director of Rugby.
Steve has two sons, one that has played for Canterbury and the other still in action for Coventry.

Jason Smith
Backs Coach / Squad Manager
Jason has played at Maidstone through the youth section. Making his senior debut at 18, Jason was a versatile Centre & Full Back that was part of Maidstone’s 2014-15 unbeaten season. A season that ended with triumph at Twickenham. After returning to Maidstone after a sabbatical, he took up the role of Mustangs Manager & Squad Manager. His new venture into coaching, knowledge of the game and work with the youth section makes Jason a perfect choice for Senior Backs Coach.
Dave Charlton
Skills & Development Coach
Dave Charlton started his playing career along with his brother Sean at Maidstone, playing in the national leagues before heading off to further education. Upon his return, Dave became the 1st XV Captain at the age of 23 and helped the club eventually regain its status after a decline in form during his absence.
A very popular man around the club, Dave continues to turn out for the Evergreen side when he can. Dave also assisted the Mustangs clinch the league title in the 2017/18 season. He also holds Level 2 coaching level badges in Football & Cricket.

Shaun Neaves
Scrum Coach
Ex 1st XV Shaun Neaves should need no introduction to Maidstone club members, as well as many throughout Kent. Shaun has held several positions at the club from forwards coach, to immediate past Chairman. Shaun is now the Club Captain and once again joins the coaching staff for specialist scrum coaching. He also boasts a distinguished karaoke voice.
Richard Parker
Breakdown Specialist Coach
Richard was an unstoppable force during his playing days within the 1st XV.
The club is delighted to welcome Richard back to share his knowledge & pass on the specialist technique of managing the breakdown.

Mick Walker
Youth Developmental Coach
Mick coached an undefeated Army U21's for 3 years. His highlight was the Combined services U21 game at Twickenham V England Students & internationally against New Zealand.
He was engaged with Wasps when they first came to Kent with their Academy & also coached North Walsham in the National League.
Mick has had a number of notable invites from WRU, including the National Team run outs.
Brecon rugby club also invited Mick to the Australia Master classes hosted by the WRU.
He was also previously appointed by the British Army as the backs coach for the Cyprus Army side.
At MFC, Mick has played and coached with the Veterans side, as well as coaching the Mustangs to the league title in 2018.

Caroline Surtees
Lead Sports Therapist
Caroline graduated from the University of Kent with a 1st Class Bachelor of Science Hons Degree in Sports Therapy. She has been with the club for the past 4 seasons, going into her 5th as Head of Medical.
As a student, Caroline worked with the Samoa Rugby Union Team whilst they were training in Guilford, before going north of the border to play Scotland in an Autumn International.
Caroline also worked with the Kent County Ladies Team in the summer of 2019, and is also about to enter her second season with Saracens Academy as the lead medic for Kent. Day-to-day, Caroline works out of an Osteopath Clinic based in Hollingbourne, Maidstone.
